The rules of etiquette in Japan are quite clear about how much you should give to newlyweds if you are invited to a wedding. Such a gift is equal to 30,000 yen. Moreover, it doesn’t matter who you are to the newlyweds - a friend, colleague or former classmate. If you come as a couple with someone, then each of you must give 30,000 yen.

In Japan you can hear the word "koku". This word refers to the amount of rice that is necessary to feed an adult throughout the year, namely 180 liters. Rice used to be a measure of a person's wealth. In koku, the “salaries” of many people, including samurai, were calculated.

In Japanese cuisine there is no such thing as a main course. This is due to the fact that the size of the prepared dishes is very small. Plus, by default, the base of everything is rice. A classic meal in Japan can include up to 20 different dishes, all small in size. In addition, in Japan there is no such thing as “additive”, but there is the concept of “o-kawari” - which literally translates as “change”. It means a request to put more rice in an empty bowl.

Yakiniku literally means fried meat. The meat is cut into small pieces and grilled; yakiniku is also called Japanese barbecue. Pork and beef are used for cooking. In Japan, there are specialized restaurants where yakiniku is prepared at specially equipped tables. Such restaurants are very popular. Various parts of meat are used for cooking and the cost of the dish depends, among other things, on which part of the carcass the yakiniku will be prepared from. After frying, the meat is consumed with soy sauce.
