The 2024 Jessup Central Asian Rounds (JCAR24) and team's participation in it:
🌟 This year, the JCAR24 took place in the stunning city of Almaty, Kazakhstan, hosted by KIMEP University. Universities from across Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, gathered at JCAR24 to compete for their National Championship and, of course, to have fun.
⚖️ On Feb 15th, three teams from Uzbekistan competed against each other for their National Championships. From Feb 15th to 16th, teams from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan participated in their preliminary rounds, with the final round for their respective National Championships taking place on Feb 17th.
💫 Our team really enjoyed being part of JCAR24 and valued the interactions with other teams during the competition and coffee breaks.
🌎 We extend enormous thanks to the organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and judges for their efforts in making JCAR24 a success.
🏆Congratulations to all advancing teams, and best of luck in the International Rounds in Washington DC!

Our team’s participation in the 2024 Jessup Uzbekistan National Rounds (Jessup UzNR24):
Like last year, three universities from Uzbekistan took part in Jessup UzNR24. The opponents of our team were Westminister International University of Tashkent (WIUT) and the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED).
The case of the present year concerned the Sterren Forty. In the first round, we pleaded as Respondent against WIUT Jessup Team, while in the second round, our team pleaded as an Applicant against UWED Jessup Team.
In general, TSUL Jessup Team won all rounds 9-0 and has become the 2024 National Champion of Uzbekistan. Moreover, our team has won the prizes of the ‘Best Memorial’ and the ‘Best Oralist’ of Uzbekistan. Our team will now represent Uzbekistan in the International Rounds in Washington, DC.
Notably, due to the outstanding results of our last year’s team, this year Uzbekistan will be represented by two teams: the National Champion - TSUL Jessup Team, Runner-up team - WIUT Jessup Team.
Huge thanks to all teams that outstandingly participated in Jessup UzNR24! We wish you luck in your future endeavors!

Meet Kumushkhon Abdumutalimova, a devoted third-year student specializing in Public Law and distinguished as a top achiever in her faculty, having the highest GPA.
She is really disciplined, so she does not forget to put her make-up and being well-dressed always in any circumstances. And yes, about the circumstances, she pleaded on her birthday and nailed it fully getting the highest scores from judges.
She is very kind, caring and loves helping to other students at the university, so that she is determined to protect the rights of stateless students (‘the Sterren Forty’) before the International Court of Justice.

Meet Javokhir Miraliev, a dedicated third-year student at Tashkent State University of Law, majoring in International Law and Comparative Legislation.
Due to his consistent participation in different moot courts at TSUL, he has quite good experience in finding loopholes in the law relevant to the case.
Since he loves sleeping so much, there are some rumors in the team that he finds all his arguments in his dreams. Rumors also say that his loyalty extends beyond his friends and teammates - he has apparently taken on the role of protector of Queen Khasat and her friend, Ms. Shaw.
Who knew that a love for napping could lead to such noble responsibilities? 😁

Meet Muhammadali Rahmonov, a second-year student at Tashkent State University of Law, majoring in International Law and Comparative Legislation.
Despite being the youngest member of our team, he has managed to score remarkably high scores in oral and written submissions. Besides, he can plead excellently on all four issues.
When it comes to discipline and punctuality, he schedules every minute of his day, including annoying Sarvar twice a day.
Although he does not support having a dual personality, he still approves having dual nationality. His deep and sincere love for making money has led him to represent Ms. Shaw before the International Court of Justice.😄

Meet Sarvarkhon Nosirkhonov, a third-year student at Tashkent State University of Law, majoring in International Law and Comparative Legislation.
Sarvarkhon is a senior member of our team and one of the few Jessup participants in Uzbekistan who has secured the title of ‘National Champion’ twice. Besides, his deep knowledge and experience have earned him the nomination for the ‘Best Oralist’ of the Uzbekistan National Rounds of 2024.
Sarvarkhon firmly believes that money can buy anything, but not citizenship. In addition, although he does not approve of dual nationality, he successfully managed to protect Ms. Shaw on both sides.😄

Meet our beloved Coach (a.k.a. Dictator🖤), Professor Sébastien Lafrance!
Professor Sébastien Lafrance is the symbol of consistency and discipline. All the records set last year, as well as this year’s victory of the TSUL Jessup Team, could not have been achieved without him.
In addition, he is already on the way to becoming a citizen of Uzbekistan.😁 He has already established some ‘genuine connections’ to our country. Particularly, he recently acquired the ‘Honoris Causa’ (Honorable Professor) title at TSUL for his great contribution to the TSUL history. Besides, he has a big family in Uzbekistan who love and admire him, known as the TSUL Jessup Community. He is also learning Uzbek language right now along with his more than 25 other languages that he already possesses!

- Javokhir Miraliev
- Muhammadali Rahmonov
In the Jessup 2024, the TSUL Jessup Team has won Uzbekistan National Championship, the best memorial as well as the best oralist awards in the National Rounds of the Competition!
In the international rounds, our team advanced to the TOP-32 knock-out rounds among TOP-10 teams with the highest scores in the preliminary rounds. This is the highest result ever achieved by the Teams from Central Asian. Furthermore, our Respondent’s Memorial ranked as TOP-7 among 700 teams participating in the Competition and our oralists were ranked in 120 oralists in the world! As for now, again, the TSUL Jessup is the strongest in Central Asian Region!
None of these could have been possible to achieve without constant support and guidance of our Coaches, Sébastien Lafrance and Akhrorkhon Nabiraev. We extend our sincere gratitude to the administration of our university, especially our Dean, Dildora Umarkhanova, and also to our National Administrator Salimjon Yusupov for continuous encouragement and assistance! We are extremely grateful for our friends and family for unwavering belief in us and continuous support throughout our journey!
The TSUL Jessup will continue being the best and setting new records until we reach the Jessup World Championship!
This post concludes our submissions for Jessup 2024, and now we will yield the floor to the Jessup Team of 2025!
See you next year!
