Hereโs a tip I talked about in the course ๐๐ค
Assimilation๐ in languages refers to the process by which sounds or pronunciation elements in a word change or adapt to make it easier to pronounce or flow more smoothly when spoken in context with neighboring sounds. This phenomenon occurs when sounds influence each other within a word or across word boundaries.
๐ฃ๏ธAssimilation can involve changes in phonetic features such as voicing, place of articulation, or manner of articulation. For example, in the word โhandbag,โ the โnโ sound assimilates to the following โbโ sound, becoming pronounced as /m/ due to the influence of the bilabial consonant.
๐๏ธAssimilation is a natural aspect of language evolution and contributes to the overall intelligibility and fluidity of speech.
