Today, April 27th, Wizz Air flight W62094 from Larnaca to Krakow was delayed by four hours.

The aircraft was scheduled to depart at 00:25 but eventually took off at 04:30.

As a reminder, under EU Regulation 261/2004, if a flight's arrival at its destination is delayed by more than three hours, passengers may claim compensation.

More details here.

In practice, Wizz Air is notoriously reluctant to pay out compensation for delays. Typically, the airline cites 'extraordinary circumstances' for the delay without specifying further details. Many passengers of previously delayed flights report having successfully claimed compensation through services like AirHelp or Compensair.

Recently, FlyOne has frequently sent some of its passengers notifications regarding changes to flight schedules.

Here’s useful information if you have received such notifications:

1. If your flight time has changed (FlyOne’s policy states that acceptable flight delays are 3-4 hours) or your flight has been cancelled, you are entitled to a 100% refund. There are no penalties charged by the company in these instances. However, if you purchased your ticket through an agent, they may charge a commission.
2. If you are dissatisfied with the changes, you can change the date of your new trip free of charge, but the new date must be within 30 days before or after the original flight date.
3. Another option is for the company to return the funds to your personal account, adding an additional 10% of the original ticket cost. You can use these funds to purchase new tickets, but the account must belong to one of the passengers.
4. You can contact FlyOne via email at [email protected]. They usually respond within two hours.
5. It’s important to note that if your flight departs from Armenia or returns there, you must contact FlyOne Armenia directly. The office in Moldova will not be able to assist you.

Here's a clever tip to significantly save on flights with Georgian Airways.

For instance:

Purchasing a through ticket from Moscow to Larnaca via Tbilisi for 10 May (similar prices apply on some other dates) can cost up to €830 per person.

However, if you buy tickets separately for Moscow-Tbilisi and Tbilisi-Larnaca, the entire journey will cost you €380. The downside of this method is that if the first flight is delayed and you miss the second, the airline will not automatically transfer you to the next available flight to Larnaca for free. Additionally, you will need to collect and re-check your baggage yourself. The good news, though, is that Georgian Airways flights currently often depart on schedule. You might also consider an overnight stay in Tbilisi to avoid the risk of missing connections.
