Today's arrests of six former executives of Stand News in Hong Kong also includes Canadian-Hong Konger, Denise Ho. This is the first publicly known Canadian to be arrested on suspicion of publishing seditious materials.

Denise Ho Wan-see is a Cantopop singer and actress and a prominent pro-democracy, feminist, and LGBTQ+ activist. She is a Canadian citizen and lived in Montreal.

趁仲係一月，整理咗2021 年喺香港被消失嘅唔同聲音。傳媒、民主派議員/社運人士、教育界、學生、公民組織同個別市民看似喺社會上消聲匿跡。凡有自由意志嘅人，都似乎會係下一個目標。但，「埋頭尚有智慧，思想他人難偷取」，堅定嘅意志唔係外人可以輕易奪取嘅。2022年，我哋可以重拾同捍衛自己嘅聲音嗎？

We are still in January, so we summarized a 2021 timeline on the silenced voice in Hong Kong. The voices of media, activists, schools and students, individuals and civil society groups seemed to have disappeared in the society. Our strong will, however, is not something that others can easily take away from us. In 2022, can we find and hold our voice again?
