🇺🇸🤝🇲🇩 Antony Blinken has left the premises of the Moldovan presidential palace as locals filmed his motorcade traveling to the city.

He is expected to arrive in Prague, Czechia, tomorrow meaning that his visit in Moldova is officially over.

📝 Blinken revealed that the U.S. has spent, so far, over 1 billion USD to combat Russian influence in the country by "consolidating Moldovan institutions" (774 million USDs + 50 million more) and some 195 million USDs for energy-linked projects to reduce Moldova's reliance on Russia and Transnistria. These projects were more successful as Moldova is actively connecting her power grid to Romania's.

🇷🇴⚖️⚡️ 5 days ago, a high profile corruption case involving the former 2nd most powerful man in the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) and the former head of the SRI's legal department surfaced.

Florian Coldea and Dumitru Dumbravă were cited by the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) and were questioned for 15 hours following a complaint made by a local businessman, Cătălin Hideg.

Hideg revealed that he was charged 600k EURs by Coldea through a lawyer in order to escape prison. The money was going to be split by Coldea, Dumbravă and the lawyer who promised him to influence the judge and get him the sentence he desired. Hideg paid 100k EURs to show that he was serious but the two SRI generals failed to prevent Hideg's imprisonment and as soon as it was possible, Hideg ratted out his co-conspirators.

Cătălin Hideg is no saint. He is a freemason like every high ranking intelligence officer and politician (including those that failed him) and owns the Sanimed group and is responsible for tens of thousands of expensive contracts with various institutions of the Romanian state which enriched him greatly. Sanimed sells sterile compresses and other items and goods used by hospitals in their regular activities. Hideg once studied for a master's degree at the National Academy of Information which belongs to the SRI and was a student of a now disgraced SRI general who was caught selling PhD's and master's degrees to anyone willing to pay.

In 2020 Hideg started selling surgical masks, surgical gloves and other precaution equipment to hospitals across the country in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. He won a 12 million EUR contract for masks with a company headquartered in a town some 30 km south of Bucharest with one employee. This contract is currently under investigation by the DNA.

Earlier this year Hideg was sentenced to 4 years in prison for embezzlement and money laundering managing to gain 3 million EURs worth of EU funds. This is the sentence Hideg was trying to avoid and contacted Florian Coldea and Dumitru Dumbravă through a lawyer. Coldea and Dumbravă were retired by president Klaus Johannis in 2017. They rose to preeminence under president Traian Băsescu with Coldea being recognised for his efforts in bringing home three Romanian journalists that were kidnapped in Iraq in the spring of 2005. They later became known as the "founders of the deep state" and reportedly were "able to find compromising information about anyone".

The money Hideg paid was done through the "classic" embezzlement scheme. Coldea is the chairman of two consulting firms and Hideg "purchased" two consulting contracts for his companies from Coldea as a way to mask the transfer and not raise suspicions from other agencies.

🇷🇴🗳⚡️ The Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) will allow illiterate individuals and those that do not speak the Romanian language to vote in the upcoming elections.

However they will not be allowed to enter the voting booth together with an interpreter or translator as that would violate the secrecy of the vote, except in cases where the handicap is visible with the open eye, like in the case of a blind person, for example,

Voting booths will be open from 7 AM to 10 PM local hours on June 9th for the Europarliamentary elections and local elections. Under exceptional cases, the voting will be prolonged to 11:59 PM if the queues did not end by 10 PM.

For the Romanians in the diaspora, to be able to vote outside Romania, they will have to prove their residency in the respective country and/or the citizenship. The list of the necessary documents can be found on the website of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

His reasoning is that the public display of homosexuality can harm the development of children so true

Recent polls however show that Mihai Enache is the 4th most favorite candidate in this election and his political campaign for mayor has been pretty weak.

📝: the firms who conduct these polls in Romania are partisan and depending on the political affiliations of their chairman they will rank the closest ideologically aligned candidate higher than he truly is. However, there is little chance that AUR will win the election for mayor of Bucharest regardless of the polls.

🇷🇴🔫🇺🇸 Aerostar and Lockheed Martin open Romania's first HIMARS maintenance centre in Europe, in Bacău

The Aerostar company from Bacau and the Americans from Lockheed Martin are opening the first maintenance centre in Europe for HIMARS missile systems in Bacău, Lockheed Martin announced. The two companies already collaborate on maintenance activities for Romania's F-16 aircraft and Black Hawk helicopters.

"At Lockheed Martin, we are proud of our long-standing strategic partnership with Romania, which provides meaningful collaborations that drive innovation and resilience to improve Romania's defense industrial base," said Ray Piselli, Lockheed Martin's vice president for international affairs at the ceremony in Bacău.
