🇷🇺 On May 9, 2025, a solemn flower-laying ceremony took place at the walls of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Manama to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The event was attended by numerous compatriots, sympathetic citizens of Bahrain and other countries, as well as staff of the diplomatic mission. Those gathered honored the memory of the war heroes and homefront workers who made a decisive contribution to saving the Motherland and the entire world from the “Brown Plague.”

⭐️ The Embassy expresses its sincere gratitude to all those involved in this noble initiative and, avails itself of this opportunity to congratulate everyone on Victory Day!

[…] Мы собрались здесь, чтобы почтить память всех, кто сражался не только за свободу и независимость нашей Родины, но и за будущее всей цивилизации. Их подвиг бессмертен, а наша благодарность и память — вечны;

💬 К сожалению, с каждым годом всё чаще предпринимаются попытки пересмотреть итоги Второй мировой войны. […] В ряде европейских стран проходят шествия с символикой СС. А на западных рубежах нашей страны вновь появляются танки с нацистскими знаками — и нашим солдатам снова приходится их жечь;

💬 Особое значение для нас имеет то, что память об этом подвиге сохраняется не только в России. […] Ярким подтверждением этого стало участие 27 мировых лидеров в Параде Победы в Москве;

💬 Особенно отрадно для меня отметить, что Королевство Бахрейн — моя страна пребывания — также выразило свою солидарность с нами. Вчера, в частности, Его Величество Король Хамад бен Иса Аль Халифа направил Президенту Российской Федерации Владимиру Владимировичу Путину телеграмму с искренними поздравлениями по случаю Дня Великой Победы […].

🇷🇺 Excerpts from the opening remarks delivered by H.E. Dr. Alexey Skosyrev, Russian Ambassador to Manama, at the concert on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory:

💬 I would like to congratulate you on the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet People and the Allies in the World War II in Europe. In Russia, as you may know, the events of those days are better known as the Great Patriotic War. […] And I also want to extend my sincerest gratitude to you for coming today to honor the sacrifice of all the heroes who fought not only for the freedom, independence, and bright future of our country, but for the sake of humanity as a whole. As we say back at home, the deeds of our forefathers are immortal, the memory of them is eternal;

💬 Unfortunately, […] the further we move from May 9, 1945, the more persistent are the attempts to politicize and rewrite history, to whitewash the crimes of the Nazis. Once again we see the parades under the SS-banners in certain European towns. Once again our brave soldiers have to burn the tanks from Germany with Nazi eagles and crosses on their armor at the Western borders of our country;

💬 It’s important to note that the majority of the world […] understand the significance of the date, share our feelings and recognize the role of the Soviet Union in bringing peace and liberty to Europe and beyond. The attendance of the Victory Parade in Moscow by the leaders of 27 nations from around the globe shows that clearly. And it’s particularly heartwarming for me personally that the Kingdom of Bahrain – my current station - is also among the states that express their solidarity with us on this blessed occasion, as indicated by the cable sent yesterday by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to His Excellency President Vladimir Putin […].

9 мая 2025 года в гостинице Gulf Hotel в г.Манаме прошло масштабное мероприятие, посвященное 80-летию Великой Победы.

Празднование открывала поздравительная речь Посла Российской Федерации в Королевстве Бахрейн А.В.Скосырева.

К сожалению, чем дальше в историю уходит 9 мая 1945 г., тем настойчивее становятся попытки политизировать и переписать историю, умалить вклад СССР (и особенно России) в Победу над фашизмом. Наш долг сохранить память о тех, кто пережил невыносимые страдания, лишения и утраты. Работал на износ, на пределе человеческих сил. Воевал, не щадя своей жизни. Показал пример благородства и подлинного патриотизма.

🎵 Состоялся концерт, организованный силами соотечественников, прошло шествие "Бессмертный полк". Для гостей была установлена фотозона с информационными стендами о солдатском рационе и военной формой. Присутствующие могли ознакомиться с коллекцией самодельных лоскутных открыток, подготовленных рукодельницами из разных городов России специально к празднованию 9 мая в Бахрейне.

📸 Вниманию присутствующих также была представлена фотовыставка ТАСС "Их подвиг бессмертен". Экспозиция рассказывает о ключевых событиях последних месяцев Великой Отечественной войны, представляет собой 26 тематически оформленных стендов, на которых представлены архивные сообщения агентства из ежедневных сводок "Вестника фронтовой информации" и "Вестника союзной информации", снимки военных фотокорреспондентов агентства и плакаты "Окна ТАСС".

Главный гость концерта - замминистра иностранных дел Бахрейна по политическим вопросам Х.Аль-Джаляхма. Присутствовали многочисленные представители дипкорпуса.

Посольство выражает благодарность всем причастным организаторам и исполнителям, включая школу "Life in Music" и её руководителя Ольгу Ауст, детскую театральную студию "Кошкин дом" и её руководителя Ирину Ивановой-де Бур (сценарий и постановка); Андрея Кравченко, Ольгу Стерхову и всех актёров студии; Даниила Сокова (видеография); Романа Пикуля (техническое сопровождение концерта); Ирину Аверинос (оформление плакатов, выставка текстильных открыток); Алину Крапивину, Елену Босую и Хану Аль-Моабер (дизайн и общее оформление) и многих других.

On May 9, a large-scale commemoration event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory was held at the Gulf Hotel in Manama.

The celebration opened with a congratulatory speech by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Alexey Skosyrev.

"Unfortunately, the further we move away from May 9, 1945, the more persistent the attempts become to politicize and rewrite history, diminishing the contribution of the USSR (and especially Russia) to the victory over fascism. He stressed that it is our duty to preserve the memory of those who endured unbearable suffering, deprivations, and losses, worked to exhaustion, fought heroically, and demonstrated true patriotism."

🎵 The event featured a concert organized by the Russian-speaking compatriots and the "Immortal Regiment" march.

📸 A special photo zone was set up with informational stands about soldiers' rations and military uniforms. Guests could also explore the collection of handmade patchwork postcards, crafted by artisans from various Russian cities specifically for the Victory Day celebration in Bahrain.

Attendees were presented with a TASS photo exhibition titled "Their Immortal Heroism" which highlights key events of the final months of the Great Patriotic War and consists of 26 thematic panels featuring archival TASS reports from the "Frontline Information Bulletin" and "Allied Information Bulletin," photographs by wartime correspondents, and posters from the famous "TASS Windows" series.

The guest of honor of the event - H.E. Ambassador Khalid Al-Jalahma, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain.
Representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom attended the concert as well.

The Embassy expresses its gratitude to all organizers and participants involved, including the Life in Music school and its director Olga Aust; the children’s theater studio Koshkin Dom ("Cat's House") and its director Irina Ivanova-de Boer (script and stage direction); Andrey Kravchenko, Olga Sterkhova, and all the studio’s actors; Daniil Sokov (videography); Roman Pikul (technical support for the concert); Irina Averinos (poster design, exhibition of textile greeting cards); Alina Krapivina, Elena Bosaya, and Hana Al-Moaber (design and overall visual concept), as well as many others.
