Bad storm coming thru. Lightning popping everywhere. So on a hunch I threw the big honking Frankenstein switch in the basement to disconnect the entire property from the grid.

An hour later….
Daughters car just texted and said charging failure. She’s on grid power around the corner. Went down and looked and the pilot light on top of my transfer switch is off. That means the grid is indeed down. I’m still cooking a pot of rice. Not a damn thing changed in the house.
