Princess of Eboli, Ana de Mendoza de la Cerda born in 1540 died in 1592. She was the daughter of Diego Hurtado de Mendoza y de la Cerda vice-roi of Aragon and his wife María-Catalina de Silva y Toledo. She is married at the age of 12 to Ruy Gomez de Silva, prince of Eboli.

She is one of the most talented women of her time and considers her one of the most beautiful nobles of the Court of Spain despite an anomaly which obliges her to wear an eye patch at all times at the level of the right eye.
